I am in the Cisco Networking industry since 1997. Over time my name spread across the industry and I receive a lot of work based on word-by-mouth referrals which I really appreciate. Without any doubt, I would consider my biggest achievement the successful completion of the Cisco CCIE Lab exam in July 2004.

Cisco Consulting Highlights

Amongst the hundreds of projects I was involved in over the years, I would like to pick out 4 which were the most exciting ones.

Designing and Configuring the (back then) world’s largest Cisco VPN network for a large bank in Germany. 2 x 1300 VPN tunnels from branches with pre-shared key authentication terminating at 2 Cat 6500 with VPN blades.

The G8 summit in Glenneagles. Setting up a Cisco wireless solution to enable all journalists to use the WLAN to form VPNs to their offices, use the Internet and upload the pictures. Was very nice to see heads of state so close.

Rolling out a Cisco IP Video Surveillance for embassies of a Western government.

Designing and Implementing a complete new Cisco FWSM Firewall infrastructure for a Portuguese TV station through Cisco Systems

Teaching a Cisco Security Manager Class in Luela, Northern Sweden in December. 4 hours daylight, -35 degrees but yet a great experience.

SEO, PPC Online Marketing & Adwords Success Stories

In 2006 I started teaching myself about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Google Adwords and generic PPC (Pay Per Click) in order to attract more clients for my services online.

By 2008 the volume of the leads I have received through my website martinvoelk.com had by far exceeded my own capacity to deliver and I starting involving other trusted Cisco CCIE Consultants to share the work with. Layer 8 Networks & One 4 Networks was born as a result. Over the past years I have set up in excess of 100 web presences to promote a variety of Services, such as Hardware Supply, Consulting, Support Contracts and Training.

By getting very skilled customer services people on board, we were able to turn most of our leads into business and grew the initial leads into long term customer relationships.

The online lead volume produced in the first 6 months in 2012 resulted in more than £500,000 GBP business revenue for my clients.
