About Martin Voelk - Senior Cisco CCIE Network / Security Consultant and Cisco Trainer

IT, Networking and Security Technologies have always fascinated me. Since 1997 I have been working as a freelancing Network and Security Consultant for clients around the globe. My clients range from small to medium sized businesses up to large enterprise blue chip companies, government-, military- and intelligence institutions as well as Internet Service Providers.

My main focus is on Cisco geared networks and products, but I am very skilled on other vendor platforms as well. In July 2004 I achieved my CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) certification, which is deemed to be the most valuable and difficult IT certification on the market today.

In summer 2006 I have passed the Cisco Systems Certified Instructor (CCSI) certification and started delivering Cisco Authorized Training Courses for a global Cisco Learning Solutions Partner.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from the Technical College in Munich, Germany
and various Cisco Certifications (please see CV section for details) as well as the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from the EC-Council in the US.

Being very internationally orientated, I have travelled to 71 countries until the present day on both business and holiday purposes. In my spare time I always try to travel to new countries in order to see and learn about different cultures.

On March 1st. 2009 I have merged my very successful UK based start-up Cisco Consultancy Services company Layer 8 Networks Limited with the well established Cisco Premier Partner ProNetExpert Limited, where I now hold the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) position. I am still engaged in Cisco Consulting & Cisco Training, but I now spend 50% of my time on developing new technical strategies, product lines and services.
